Episode 40: Short Hair, DO Care!

Knitting Segments

Show Ready Knits

Three Color Cashmere Cowl by Joji Locatelli
Yarn: Shibui Knits Staccato in Velvet, Mineral and Pollen
Needles: Size 2 Addi Turbos

I love, love, love this finished object!

Lucy Hat by Carina Spencer

Needles:
I love this item, but I don't think it looks good with my short hair. What do you think?

I am on the lookout for a pattern for two color knits in a DK weight. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Knits in Rehearsal

I haven't really worked on anything else since finishing my two projects above, but I talked about picking up my Mama Vertebrae again.

Yarn: Malabrigo Rios in the Chispas Colorway
Needles: Size 6 Signature Convertibles

I mentioned all the other wips I've got going on right now, check out my notebook on Ravelry to see those.

Auditioning Knits

View from the Charles by Jennifer Lassonde. BostonJen from the Down Cellar Studio Podcast has a new shawl design and I can't wait to cast it on! I'm going to use some newly purchased yarn (specifically for this pattern) that I got from the Black Mountain Yarn Shop in Black Mountain, NC.

I use Random.org to draw a winner of this contest. Listen up to see if you are the lucky one!

New Contest: View from the Charles
Jennifer Lassonde/BostonJen was kind enough to offer a giveaway (digital) copy of her new pattern. All you have to do is respond to the prompt in the thread on Ravelry. This contest will be open through November 15, 2015.

Las Knitting Amigas is a new video podcast that I've been enjoying, Joji Locatelli is one of hosts with her friend Veronica, and it's an all Spanish podcast.

Saff is coming up soon, October 29 through November 1 in Fletcher, NC. I will be there on Saturday and if you are there, please say hello and maybe do a little interview for the podcast!

Knitting Talk Back

The series on my Favorite Ravelry Things continues. This episode I discuss the rest of the features of the notebook, including Friends, Groups and Events, Needles and Hooks, Library, Contributions and Purchases. If you have anything to add to my list, please jump on over to the Actually Knitting Podcast group on Ravelry and join in the conversation.

Non-Knitting Segments

What a Crock

Love it or Leave it

Love it: My Best Friend listens to the podcast, and she's not a knitter!

Leave it: I have to stop wearing my high heels to work! Too much pain!

Other News and Notes

Running Updates I completed my longest run to date, 12 miles, on Saturday and this will be my longest run before my 13.1 on November 7 in Savannah Georgia!

Book Notes
I finally finished reading Written in my Own Heart's Blood by Diana Gabaldon. It took me over a year to finish this book, my heart just wasn't in it.

I started reading The Boston Girl by Anita Diamant and I'm really enjoying it so far.

I started listening to some new to me non-knitting podcasts:

I'm really enjoying all three.

Other

Josh and I attended a wedding last weekend in Maggie Valley, NC. It's a really cute town and we also took some detours to Black Mountain and Asheville, one of my favorite places in North Carolina.

Thank you so much for listening!
